Abstract

A power transfer component including a limited slip differential may include a planetary differential including a differential case. A planet carrier may be disposed within the differential case and rotatable relative to the differential case about an output axis. A first output member may be coupled to the planet carrier for common rotation about the output axis. The second output member may be coupled to the sun gear for common rotation about the output axis. A clutch basket may be fixedly coupled to the planet carrier and disposed within the differential case. A first set of friction plates may be coupled to the clutch basket for common rotation with the clutch basket about the output axis and for axial translation relative to the clutch basket. A second set of friction plates may be coupled to the sun gear for common rotation about the output axis and for axial translation relative to the sun gear.
