Abstract

The invention relates to a DC current cut-off device and method based on matching of split-phase damping input type MMC topology and an AC circuit breaker, belonging to the technical field of flexibleDC transmission. The invention provides a DC current cut-off device and strategy based on matching of split-phase damping input type MMC topology and an AC circuit breaker. After a fault is detectedby a sensor on the line, a converter station starts a fault control scheme, and three-phase bridge arm sub-modules all adopt a bypass strategy. At the same time, the bridge arms asymmetrically enablerespective damping modules. After the control strategy is started, an AC component is superimposed on a DC bus. When the AC circuit breaker detects the zero-crossing point, the AC circuit breaker begins to be switched off. When the AC circuit breaker is completely switched off, an isolator is pulled off. The device and the method can effectively cut off DC lines with faults and guarantee quick recovery after faults. Compared with the DC circuit breaker scheme, the device and the method have the advantages that the use of the AC circuit breaker can greatly reduce the cutoff cost.
