According to the intelligent light pole and the method for detecting the density of parking spaces in the service area, the intelligent light pole and the method combines street lights with the parking space monitoring in the service area, and transforms the original street lights in the service area without increasing number of the device in the service area, thereby realizing the monitoring of the density of the parking spaces in the service area, improving the traffic volume pressure in expressway service areas, and providing rest places for more drivers and passengers.
