[0021] The stool specimens containing gut microbes used for transplantation were randomly selected from clinical male patients with major depression and male healthy controls. The fecal treatment was carried out in a sterile environment. 0.1g of each fecal specimen was suspended in 1.5ml sterile PBS, and 5 aliquots of the fecal suspension were mixed together. The suspension was poured into adult male Kunming mice (15-30 mice) (6-8 weeks) by gavage needle (0.2ml gavage, once) for colonization. The mixed fecal suspension of severe depression or healthy control is passed into different isolators through the sterile transfer window, and all colonization operations are performed in the isolators, strictly aseptic.
