Abstract

The present application provides a narrow linewidth nested cavity optical parametric oscillator (OPO) comprising: a pumping source, a laser crystal, and a nonlinear crystal, wherein the end positionsof the laser crystal and the nonlinear crystal are provided with a plurality of cavity mirrors; the two adjacent cavity mirrors disposed on the end portions of the laser crystal and the nonlinear crystal have different reflectivity for the laser cavity resonant light and the OPO resonant light to constitute an F-P etalon. Based on the linewidth narrowing principle of the Fabry-Perot etalon, the nested cavity OPO is formed so that the laser resonant cavity and the OPO resonant cavity share the same F-P etalon which constitutes the two end surfaces of the laser crystal and the nonlinear crystal. Therefore, the effect of narrowing the oscillating laser generated in the two resonant cavities can be achieved by using only one F-P etalon without additional components, thereby reducing the volumeof the oscillator and improving reliability.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates to the technical field of optical devices, in particular to a narrow linewidth nested cavity optical parametric oscillator. Background technique [0002] An Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO) is a parametric oscillator that oscillates at an optical frequency. It can convert the laser with an input frequency of ωp, that is, the pump laser, into two output lights with lower frequency through the second-order nonlinear optical interaction, namely: signal light ωs and idler light ωi, two output The sum of the frequencies of the light is equal to the input light frequency, namely: ωs+ωi=ωp. OPO can provide a tunable, highly coherent light source that can achieve optical wavelength radiation that cannot be achieved by traditional lasers. [0003] A typical optical parametric oscillator mainly includes three key parts, namely: laser pump light source, optical resonant cavity and nonlinear optical crystal. Wherein, the optic...
