The present invention generally relates to a washing machine. More particularly, the present invention relates to a washing machine, wherein an inner wall of a water tank (20) is visible from an innerspace of a washing tub (30) so a user can easily remove foreign materials such as slime accumulated on the inner wall of the water tank (20) and visibly check whether the foreign materials are removed. The washing machine having: a casing part; a water tank for storing washing water and having a washing tub, the washing tub for receiving washing items stored therein and being rotated by a drivingmeans; and at least one discharge member including at least one discharge opening for discharging circulating washing water to an inner space of the washing tub, wherein the washing tub includes a first observing element provided thereon, the first observing element allowing the washing tub to communicate with the water tank when an inner wall of the washing tub with which the discharge member iscombined is opened.
