Abstract

The invention relates to a network selection method and device. The method is applied to user equipment supporting a 5G network, and comprises the following steps: determining the type of a universalsubscriber identity module (USIM) according to configuration information of the USIM in the user equipment, the configuration information comprising a current public land mobile network (PLMN) list ofthe USIM; when the USIM is the stock USIM, adding 5G configuration information into the current PLMN list of the stock USIM according to a network access technology supported by the PLMN in the current PLMN list of the stock USIM to obtain an updated PLMN list of the stock USIM; and performing network selection according to the updated PLMN list. By adding the 5G configuration information to thePLMN list of the stock USIM, the user equipment adopting the stock USIM can reside in the 5G network more effectively by adopting the network selection method and device provided by the embodiment ofthe invention.
