Embodiment Construction

[0011] figure 1 A device for electrically exciting a rotor of an electric machine with direct current according to the prior art is shown highly schematically. Here, the rotor comprises a rotor body, which is indicated with 7 and which comprises electrical rotor poles. The rotor also includes a shaft, indicated at 3 , and carrying slip rings, one of which is indicated at 4 . In order to feed the rotor poles, the device includes a voltage source, which is denoted by 2 and which supplies a direct voltage. The device also includes contact elements for contacting the slip ring, one of which is indicated at 5 . Electrical conductors are located on the shaft 3 , which connect the slip ring 4 to the rotor poles, and one of the electrical conductors is indicated with 6 . The voltage source 2 is connected to the contact element 5 . In this case, the voltage source 2 , the electrical connection to the contact element 5 and the conductor 6 on the shaft are arranged such that a direct...

Abstract

The invention relates to an assembly for electrically exciting the rotor of an electrical machine, wherein the wear of the sliding contacts in operating conditions with low current density in the sliding contacts is reduced by the additional feeding of an alternating current superposed on the direct current, the rotor poles acting as an open circuit with respect to the alternating current becauseof a corotating capacitor.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a device for electrically exciting a rotor of an electric machine and a method for operating such an electric machine. The invention relates to an electrical machine excited with direct current. Background technique [0002] In many electric machines, the rotor is electrically excited via sliding contacts. The sliding contacts can be carbon brushes placed on slip rings. The current required for operating the electric motor is fed into the mover via the sliding contacts formed. [0003] During the operation of the motor, the sliding contact elements are more or less severely worn. If one or more of the sliding contact elements becomes worn, repair measures are required, which leads to costly downtimes. Various measures have already been proposed in the prior art in order to prolong as long as possible the failure of the motor due to this cause. For this, reference is made by way of example to DE 10 2006 040 262 B3 and EP 1 ...
