Abstract

The present invention relates to a cathode of a lithium secondary battery comprising iron oxide as an additive, and a lithium secondary battery comprising same. In the case of a lithium secondary battery comprising a cathode to which iron oxide is applied, the iron oxide absorbs lithium polysulfide (LiPS), which is generated in the process of charging and discharging the lithium secondary battery,thereby increasing charging and discharging efficiency of the battery and improving the longevity thereof.
