Abstract

The invention provides an internal combustion engine which can easily discharge rainwater and the like entering between cooling fins and can easily restrain deformation and weight increase of a cylinder. The internal combustion engine (1) is provided with: a crankcase that houses a crankshaft; a cylinder block (3a) protruding from the crankcase, the cylinder block (3a) being provided with a plurality of upper cooling fins (35) that rise upward from the upward-facing cylinder upper surface and are arranged at intervals in the arrangement direction along the cylinder upper surface.
