Abstract

A method controls a robotic mower (2) to a predetermined position by means of a guide wire (8). The robotic mower comprises a control unit (22) and at least one sensor (12; 14; 16; 17; 19). At least one of the sensors detects a signal from guide wire and follows the guide wire at a first distance that is randomly determined. The robotic mower follows the guide wire until detecting, by means of atleast one sensor, a signal from a boundary wire (4) and then following the boundary wire at a second distance, which is randomly determined. When detecting that the signal strength from the guide wirefalls outside a first predetermined threshold, the robotic mower starts following the guide wire again. And a robotic mower is controlled by the method described above.
