Problems solved by technology

In addition, traditional textile materials such as cotton do not achieve the desired moisture retention under pressure and may have very low liquid or moisture absorption
Furthermore, the use of natural fibers in conventional textiles means that such textile materials are not deodorant and may not have antibacterial properties, and can thus support the growth of bacteria that can cause unwanted odors, skin irritation and other health problems

Embodiment Construction

[0496] According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a multi-layer fabric assembly (also referred to herein as a "fabric facing") is provided. The component may be an absorbent, washable and hydrophilic fabric, which may alternatively also be printable, disposable, non-abrasive and / or dimensionally stable. The fabric material can be highly absorbent and have fast wicking and moisturizing capabilities.

[0497] Reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings, in which figure 1 A schematic cross-sectional view of a piece or a portion of a multilayer fabric assembly 100 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown. The fabric assembly 100 may be adapted to absorb and retain fluids that are expelled from the body of a human or non-human animal. The liquid may be in the form of sweat, saliva, urine, for example. Fabric assembly 100 may also be adapted to absorb and retain fluids other than fluids expelled from the body of a human...

Abstract

A multi-layer liquid absorbing and retaining textile assembly (100) is disclosed. The textile assembly (100) comprises at least a first layer (110), a second layer (120) and an intermediate layer (130). The intermediate layer (130) is constructed as a warp knitted spacer fabric having a plurality of sections (130A, 130B, 130C) with at least one section (130A) being proximal to the first layer (110) and at least another section (130B) being proximal to the second layer (120). The first layer (110) is adapted to transfer liquid from a first side (100A) of the textile assembly (100) to the intermediate layer (130). The intermediate layer (130) is adapted to receive and transfer liquid to the second layer (120). The second layer (120) is adapted to retain the liquid at or proximal to a second side (100B) of the textile assembly that is oppositely facing to the first side (100A).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a multilayer fabric assembly. In particular, but not exclusively, the present invention relates to multilayer fabric assemblies and their use in garments, such as but not limited to absorbent garments and undergarments, such as but not limited to for those suffering from incontinence (leaky bladder), menstruating or a person suffering from any other bodily discharge. Background technique [0002] Currently, the majority of the market is disposable absorbent articles that are used to absorb body fluids and protect the wearer from the unwanted embarrassment of bladder leaks, menstruation or other bodily discharges. Consumers in today's world are looking for high performance, environmentally friendly and chemical free products. For at least these reasons, there is a strong demand for absorbent, washable, water / leak-proof, moisture-retaining high-performance textiles. Most current traditional textile materials or natural...
