Abstract

A battery module according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a battery cell stack in which a plurality of battery cells are stacked; and a module frame for accommodating the battery cell stack. The module frame includes a first module frame having an open upper portion and a second module frame having an open lower portion. The first module frame includes a first side surface portion, a second side surface portion, and a floor portion connecting the first side surface portion and the second side surface portion. The second module frame includes a third side surface portion, a fourth side surface portion, and a ceiling portion connecting the third side surface portion and the fourth side surface portion. The first module frame and the second module frame surround the battery cell stack in a state in which the first side surface portion and the third side surface portion overlap each other and the second side surface portion and the fourth side surface portion overlap each other.
