[0073] Introduction to User Activity Monitoring

[0074] For a variety of reasons, including wound prevention and monitoring, it may be desirable for a user's activity to be monitored by an activity monitoring device. In one example, the user's activity may be monitored when the user may be prone to injury or has an injury, such as a pressure ulcer. Information about a user's activity collected by an activity monitoring device may help to aid in the prevention or treatment of pressure ulcers. Additionally, information about activity collected by activity monitoring devices can be used to check compliance with treatment regimens.

[0075] Some aspects disclosed herein relate to wound monitoring or treatment for use in the human or animal body. Thus, any reference herein to a wound may refer to a wound on a human or animal body, and any reference herein to a body may refer to a human or animal body. The disclosed techniques may relate to preventing or minimizing damage to p...

Abstract

In some aspects, a non-transitory computer readable medium is disclosed that has an application stored thereon that when executed by a processor of an electronic device causes the processor to perform a process. The process can include receiving motion data from a motion sensor, the motion data being indicative of motion by a user while wearing the motion sensor. The process can also include transmitting the motion data to a server, receiving from the server a time that the motion data indicates a foot of the user experienced a loading force which risked adversely impacting an existing foot ulcer or causing a new foot ulcer, determining a geographic location of the motion sensor at the time that the foot experienced the loading force, displaying the time and the geographic location, and requesting that the user identify an activity engaged in by the user at the time and the geographic location.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to UK provisional application numbers 1906090.4, 1906092.0, 1906095.3 and 1906097.9 filed 1 May 2019, the disclosures of which are hereby incorporated by reference in their entirety. technical field [0003] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to apparatus, systems and methods for managing communications between user activity monitoring devices and other devices. Background technique [0004] Pressure ulcers, also known as pressure sores, decubitus ulcers or decubitus ulcers, are injuries to the skin and underlying tissues caused by prolonged pressure on the skin, soft tissue, muscle or bone above capillary filling pressure (approximately 32mmHg). [0005] One type of pressure ulcer that forms on the feet is called a diabetic foot ulcer (DFU), which tends to occur with higher frequency and intensity in the diabetic population. Management and treatment of diabetic foot ulcers ...
