Abstract

A dew point sensor system contains a controller (22) with a dew point calculator, an ambient temperature sensor (20), an air pathway (52), a heater plate (32), and an external wire (60). The ambient temperature sensor (20) generates ambient temperature data, and the ambient temperature sensor (20) is operatively-connected to the controller (22). The air pathway (52) contains a blower (38) within the air pathway (52), an air flow sensor (26) within the air pathway (52), a liquid reservoir (56) operatively-connected to the air pathway (52), and component which may be an air pathway temperature sensor (28) and / or a breathing circuit heating element. The blower (38) causes air to move in the air pathway (52), while the air flow sensor (26) generates air flow data about the air moving in the air pathway (52).
