Embodiment

[0110] Unless otherwise stated, the number, percentage, ratio, ratio of all parts, percent, ratio, etc. in the remainder of this specification are by weight. In these embodiments, "CE-" means a comparative example, "E-" means an embodiment. In addition, "EFD" means a diameter of the effective fiber.

[0117] Step A- forms a nonwoven fiber web :

[0118] The nonwoven fiber web is formed by first drying the compounding charge additive to one of the thermoplastic resin level. In terms of skin / core type, in some cases, the skin and the core may each comprise a blend of additives, additives, or does not contain additives.

[0119] Step b - Prepare the electret :

[0120] The nonwoven fibrous web prepared in the above step A is charged by a method in the following three electret charging methods: corona charging, corona pretreatment and water charge, or chargin...

Embodiment E-3 to E-8

[0166] In these embodiments, the selected nonwoven fibrous web is used as a pre-filter for the electret-PP web. Most of the web used as a pre-filter has been described above. For the pre-filter web that is not described above, the information is given in Table 9 below. Information and results about laminated construction are given in Table 10.

Abstract

The invention discloses a filter assembly. The filter assembly includes an air filter media and a pre-filter media. The pre-filtration media includes a second non-woven fibrous web containing poly (4-methylpentene) and an electrostatic charging additive, and has a second electret charge. The filter assembly is configured such that air passing through the pre-filter is directed through the air filtration media. The invention further discloses a respirator. The respirator comprises the filter assembly. The invention discloses a pre-filter assembly. The pre-filter assembly includes a third nonwoven fibrous web held by a pre-filter frame. The third nonwoven fibrous web comprises: a core-skin fiber comprising a fibrous core having a poly (4-methylpentene) skin layer disposed thereon; and an electrostatic charging additive, wherein the electrostatic charging additive is included in at least one of the fiber core or the skin layer. The third nonwoven fibrous web has a third electret charge.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present disclosure generally relates to air filter media, nonwoven fibrous web, and articles comprising them. Background technique [0002] Air containing toxic or harmful substances is typically removed by filtration (e.g., using a respirator or HVAC filter). [0003] Respiratory design certification is supervised by the National Occupational Safety Institute (NIOSH). NiSH has established a variety of removal efficiency standards for respirators that have been challenged by different pollutants. For example, the standard of oil mist-removal efficiency using a suspension droplets of o-p-ocarboxylate (DOP) must be satisfied by the filter medium specified in the environment where the oil is used. Since the removal efficiency can be changed in response to the oil load, the standard specifies the minimum removal efficiency in the case of fixing the test aerosol. Other regulators can use paraffin oil or different oils. [0004] Since NiSH, July 1995, NiSH de...
