Abstract

The invention relates to a system and a method for controlling a wind turbine. Systems and methods for controlling wind turbines of a wind farm are provided. Thus, the controller determines performance differences for the wind turbine at multiple sampling intervals of the yaw event. The controller determines a trend line for the wind turbine correlating a performance difference with a deviation of a wind direction at each of the plurality of sampling intervals from the first yaw angle. A difference between an angle associated with an apex of the trend line and the first yaw angle is utilized by the controller to determine a yaw angle offset. The yaw angle offset is used to adjust a second yaw angle of the wind turbine.
