Abstract

The present disclosure relates to lidar systems and calibration methods thereof. The present disclosure provides a method for calibrating a lidar system, and a lidar system, vehicle, electronic device, and corresponding media and program products for performing the method. Lidar systems include fiber lasers. The method includes instructing, by the one or more processors, a fiber laser of the lidar system to emit one or more calibration beams during a light emission region of the calibration period. The method also includes instructing, by the one or more processors, the lidar system to detect stray light signals during a light detection region subsequent to the light emission region of the calibration period. Stray light signals can include ambient light noise or pulsed light from other lidar systems. The method also includes adjusting, by the one or more processors, a configuration of the lidar system during a subsequent session based on the detected stray light signal.
