Abstract

A multilayer ceramic electronic component is provided. The multilayer ceramic electronic component includes: a ceramic body including a dielectric layer and first and second internal electrodes disposed to be stacked with the dielectric layer interposed therebetween; and first and second external electrodes disposed on the ceramic body. The first external electrode includes a first base electrode layer disposed to be in contact with the ceramic body and a first resin electrode layer disposed on the first base electrode layer, and the second external electrode includes a second base electrode layer disposed to be in contact with the ceramic body and a second resin electrode layer disposed on the second base electrode layer, a width of the ceramic body in the second direction is less than 1.0 mm, and 0.4 * ta < = tb < = 0.5 * ta, where ta is an average thickness of the first base electrode layer, and tb is an average thickness of the first resin electrode layer.
