The processing unit comprises: a command parser for distributing commands and computing tasks; and at least one core in coupled communication with the command parser for processing distributed computing tasks, each core comprising: a convolution unit having circuitry to perform convolution operations; a pooling unit having circuitry to perform a pooling operation; at least one operating unit having circuitry to process data; and a sequencer in coupled communication with the convolution unit, the pooling unit, and the at least one operating unit, and having circuitry to allocate instructions of distributed computing tasks to the convolution unit, the pooling unit, and the at least one operating unit for execution.
