The liquid crystal composition comprises at least one compound as shown in a general formula I and at least one compound as shown in a general formula II. The liquid crystal composition has good optical anisotropy, a high clearing point, a large dielectric anisotropy absolute value and a small quiescent current (initial, UV and water boiling) under the condition of maintaining appropriate low-temperature storage time, so that a liquid crystal display device containing the liquid crystal composition has good dielectric anisotropy and good dielectric anisotropy under the condition of appropriate low-temperature resistance.
