The invention provides application of peripheral blood neutrophil as a marker in preparation of a product for diagnosing severe asthma. According to the present invention, the determination index of severe asthma is obtained by detecting the absolute value and/or the ratio of the peripheral blood neutrophil through the blood routine test of the asthma patient, such that the determination index of severe asthma is determined as follows: the absolute value gt of the peripheral blood neutrophil; 4.55 * 10 < 9 >/L (the sensitivity is 83.3%, and the specificity is 64.0%) or the percentage gt of the neutrophils in the peripheral blood; when the sensitivity is 54.8% and the specificity is 88.0%, the severe asthma is judged, and the AUC of the ROC curve is 0.777 and 0.762 respectively.
