Abstract

The method includes steps of pretreatment of iris image, feature description of iris zerocross point, compress and decompress of iris features, and feature matching. The pretreatment includes operations of iris positioning, normalization, image enhancement and noise removing. The pretreatment picks up iris area to be analyzed from original image effectively. Feature of iris zerocross point is analyzed by using multiresolution wavelet so as to build eigenvectors capable of decrypting iris image accurately. Feature compress reduces dimensions of eigenvectors of iris greatly. The compressed eigenvectors needs only small storage space to store. Simple Euclidean distance is adopted in the invention to measure similarity degree between two eigenvectors. Thus, calculated amount is small. The invention possessing fast recognition speed and high recognition accuracy is applicable to application system such as identification and safety guard.
