Problems solved by technology

Thus, the television receiver for moving objects described in Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. H07-284030 cannot adapt to these changes.
Specifically, there arises such a problem that continuous viewing of television programs without any interruption cannot be realized due to frequency variation of one broadcasting base station or branch broadcasting base stations, or although continuous viewing is possible due to an increase in the number of broadcasting base stations, Unable to watch TV programs continuously without any interruption

Embodiment Construction

[0030]The structure of a navigation device according to a specific embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 1 . The navigation device shown in FIG. 1 is capable of receiving and displaying digital terrestrial broadcasting in addition to normal navigation functions such as displaying maps. The navigation device 1 includes a control circuit 11, a read only memory (ROM) 12, a random access memory 13 (RAM), a current position detection device 14, an image memory 15, a display 16, a speaker 17, an input device 18, a digital broadcast receiving unit 19 and an optical disc driver 110 . The optical disk drive 110 can load a DVD-ROM 111 storing map data, the map data includes broadcast base station area information, data for map display, data for path detection and the like. Data for map display includes various map data of various scales ranging from a wider area view to a closer look, and the scale of the map being displayed can be changed according to the operator's req...

Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for a moving body with which the same program can be continuously viewed even if a broadcasting zone wherein the moving body is located, is changed.SOLUTION: While a location of a user is from a location 84 to a location 86, information of a present site is acquired by a present site detector, and information on a broadcasting zone on the present site and a broadcasting zone to move to is acquired from broadcasting station area information and a search route. When the location of the user reaches the location 86, a receivable channel and an ID number of a broadcasting station contained in a broadcasting wave and an EPG are then acquired from the broadcasting wave from a radio tower 88 by one of two tuners. The tuner tunes to the channel of the broadcasting station that broadcasts the same program as the program under viewing at present on the basis of the information, such as the ID number of the broadcasting station and the EPG. A field strength of a radio wave from a radio tower 87 and a field strength of the radio wave from the radio tower 88 are detected by the two tuners, respectively and when the field strength of the radio wave from the radio tower 87 becomes stronger than the field strength of the radio wave from the radio tower 88, the same program as the program under viewing at present is displayed on a display monitor.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a receiver for a mobile object capable of receiving digitized terrestrial broadcasts. Background technique [0002] Television receivers dedicated to mobile objects (mobile units or bodies) are known in the related art, which allow automatic switching to the same broadcasting station using information stored in a storage device of a navigation system for a television broadcasting base station. A base station or an affiliate broadcasting station broadcasts channels of an affiliate broadcasting station, thereby enabling continuous viewing of television programs without any interruption (Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. H07-284030 (1995)). [0003] Terrestrial-based broadcasting has been in a transition period from analog broadcasting to digital broadcasting in recent years. Under such circumstances, there is a high possibility that the frequency of a broadcasting base station for digital terrestrial broadcasting is acci...
