Embodiment Construction

[0066] FIG. 1 firstly shows a joint housing 1 schematically. The joint housing 1 has a housing region 2 , in an interior 2 ′ of the housing region 2 , for example a bearing shell (not shown here) of a ball joint or an elastomer component (also not shown here) of a molecular joint, for example. . Furthermore, the joint housing 1 has a rod region 3 or a fastening rod 3 which can be inserted into the hollow end of a hollow profile 4 , which is only partially shown here, for example a connecting rod 4 . .

[0067] For better visibility, the fastening rod 3 has not yet been inserted into the hollow profile 4 in the illustration of FIG. 1 . After the fastening rod 3 has been inserted into the hollow profile 4 , a press connection between the hollow profile 4 and the fastening rod 3 can be produced with a suitable pressing tool. Here, a form-fitting press connection is produced between the fastening rod 3 and the hollow profile 4 by means of the groove structure 5 arranged on the ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a joint housing (1) in an inner chamber (2') thereof wherein, for example, a bearing shell or a molecular joint is arranged. The joint housing (1) comprises a housing area (2) and a securing shaft (3) which can be introduced into a recess of the end region of a hollow profile (4) and can be pressed to the end region of the hollow profile (4). The securing shaft (3) comprises an at least partially surrounding groove arrangement (5), in order to produce a positive fit press connection between the securing shaft (3) and the hollow profile (4). The inventive joint housing (1) is characterised in that profile of the grooves (5) of the groove arrangement corresponds, in the longitudinal section of the shaft, to a section of at least one mathematical curve function. The aim of the invention is to produce, in an economical manner, highly stable, reinforced, light joint housings for ball-and-socket joints, wheel suspensions, stabilisers and similar. This is possible, in particular, as the geometry of the groove arrangement determines the properties of the press connection between the housing shaft, and the hollow profile can be optimised, according to the invention, using an analytical method.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a joint housing according to the preamble of claim 1 , in particular for accommodating a bearing shell of a ball and socket joint or for accommodating a molecular joint. Background technique [0002] Joint housings of this type are used, for example, in the field of vehicle chassis or wheel suspensions. In this case, the joint housing is used in most cases to connect a bearing point, that is to say, for example a ball joint or a molecular joint, to a rod-shaped profile or a hollow joint of a connecting rod connected to the joint housing. Profiles are connected. For this purpose, joint housings of the type described have, on the one hand, a housing area for accommodating a bearing shell of a ball joint or for accommodating a molecular joint, and, on the other hand, a fastening rod which can be connected in a suitable manner to the described The rod-shaped profiles or hollow profiles of the connecting rods are connected.
