[0034]The present invention discloses a method of providing pirfenidone therapy to a patient with an escalating dosage regimen that mitigates adverse events associated with the use of pirfenidone and, it is believed, better matches the development of tolerance to potentially adverse effects of the drug with increases in the dosage.
