The present disclosure relates to a surgical clip (2) consisting of a closed ring having a first gripping section (4) and a second gripping section (6), each having a base section (5, 7) and a plurality of gripping teeth (10), and two elastically deformable hinge sections (8), the invention relates to a ring (1) comprising a plurality of gripping sections (4, 6), each of which has gripping teeth (8) located between two circumferential ends (12, 14) of the gripping sections (4, 6) and substantially parallel to each other and extending away from a respective base section (5, 7), and a hinge section (8) arranged next to the circumferential ends (12, 14) of the gripping sections (4, 6), the hinge section (8) having a bend extending towards the inside of the ring, according to the invention, the hinge section (8) and the gripping section (4, 6) are arranged such that the circumferential ends (12, 14) of the hinge section (8) and the gripping section (4, 6) at least partially face each other such that a gap is formed between the circumferential ends of the hinge section and the gripping section, the circumferential end (12, 14) of at least one of the gripping sections (4, 6), preferably two gripping sections (4, 6), has a plurality of rounded or circular pressing teeth (16, 17, 18, 19, 20) which extend in the direction of the hinge section (8), the articulation section (8) and the gripping section (4, 6) are arranged such that a gap between the articulation section (8) and the circumferential end (12, 14) of the gripping section (4, 6) takes a wave geometry or is designed in a
wave shape for compressing tissue. Furthermore, the invention relates to a
system for applying a surgical clip (2) at a location in a
body cavity of a patient to compress
body tissue.
