Problems solved by technology

[0006] The remote operation member of these long-distance coordinate pointing devices includes a central light-emitting element arranged in the center, and an upward direction light-emitting element system, a downward direction light-emitting element system, and a right-direction light-emitting element system arranged obliquely in a direction away from the optical axis around the central light-emitting element. The light-emitting element system and the left-direction light-emitting element system generally have 5 systems of light-emitting elements, so a complex mechanical structure is formed, and control becomes difficult
In addition, more light-emitting elements are required, and the power consumption increases, so there is a problem that it is not practical as a remote control device.
[0007] In the existing remote control device, the cursor can only be moved step by step to a desired position by using an additional cross cursor key, etc., and the direction is only four directions of up, down, left, and right, and it is impossible to move smoothly in an oblique direction at all.
[0008] In addition, in the proposed optical remote coordinate pointing device, many light emitting elements are required, and there is a problem that it is not practical as a remote control device.

Embodiment Construction

[0061] Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0062] FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram showing a schematic diagram of essential parts of a remote control device of the present invention and a display device of the present invention including the remote control device.

[0063] The remote control device of the present invention is a so-called remote controller, and is composed of an optical pointing device 1 and a light receiving device 3 . Furthermore, the display device 2 of the present invention incorporates the light receiving device 3 of the remote control device of the present invention. The display device 2 is a monitor or a television for displaying information such as images and data, and has a display portion 2a at the center of the front surface, and a frame portion 2b supporting the display portion 2a is provided around it. The light receiving device 3 is arranged (built-in) on the front surface of the frame po...

Abstract

The invention discloses a remote control device and display device. In an embodiment of the present invention, a remote control device is provided with an optical indicator device and a light-receiving device. A display device is provided with a display portion that displays a pointer and a frame portion that accommodates the light-receiving device. By displacing a light-emitting element sequencially to a plurality of displacement positions, supplying a light emission signal to the light-emitting element at each displacement position and to cause the light-emitting element to emit as output a position detection light signal, then sequencially detecting light-reception signals that are received as input by a position detection light-receiving element of the light-receiving device, and performing arithmetic processing as appropriate on the detected light-reception signals, a displacement state of a reference axis displacement angle is detected. Movement of a pointer is controlled by using the displacement state of the reference axis displacement angle as an indicating signal for the pointer.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the priority of Japanese Patent Application No. 2004-346760 filed in Japan on November 30, 2004. The said application is mentioned in this application, and the whole content is incorporated in this application. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to a remote control device for remotely optically controlling the position of a mark such as a pointer (cursor) on a display surface of a display device, and a display device incorporating such a remote control device. Background technique [0004] Conventionally, there is known a remote control device that is mechanically controlled as a device for manipulating a cursor displayed on a display surface of a display device from a remote location. A remote control device that performs mechanical control uses, for example, a cross-cursor key and a spherical pointer device as input means for position signals. And besides this, a coordina...
