Abstract

The invention designs a flame-retardant cross-linked polyethylene which can work in high temperature work environment and can supply power persistently in case of flame, and a preparation method thereof. Cables made of the material have high resistance to high temperature and good safety feature, and are suitable to be used as marine cables. The flame-retardant cross-linked polyethylene is prepared with a silane coupling agent in an amount of 900 to 1100 parts by weight; dicumyl peroxide in an amount of 70 to 80 parts by weight; a distearyl thiodipropionate or distearyl thiodipropionate antioxidant in an amount of 20 to 40 parts by weight; a halogen-free flame retardant of plastics in an amount of 10 to 30 parts; a linear low density polyethylene (7042) in an amount of 5450 to 5550 parts; a linear low density polyethylene (1004) in an amount of 5600 to 5650 parts.
