Abstract

The invention relates to a method for media gateway controller of telecom system, the system includes a media gateway controller for implementing call control function and a media gateway for implementing bearing control function, the media gateway controller and the media gateway are separated by a vertical control protocol interface. The method comprises the following steps: sending a request for indication which represents capability for modifying the bearing characteristic by the media gateway; receiving the indication which represents whether to support modifying bearing established by the media gateway or not; confirming whether the modification of bearing characteristic is supported or not according to the received indication. The invention also relates to a corresponding media gateway controller, a correlative media gateway and a method thereof.
