Problems solved by technology

[0024] In conventional treatment methods such as a wet method that does not use a Li-LiCl step in the main process, the pretreatment methods include: a method using an aqueous inorganic acid solution (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-185241), and a method using heat separation (Japanese Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-8150), method of applying thermal shock (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-241750), method of implementing heating / crushing / acidolysis (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2003-157913, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 11-97076 Publication No. 2005-42189), the method of floating screening (Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2003-272720), the method of heating / crushing / halogen gasification (Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2005-42189), etc. Solve the above-mentioned problems when the Li-LiCl process is used as the main process

Embodiment Construction

[0084] The best way to practice the invention

[0085]Hereinafter, an embodiment of a recovery method and a recovery apparatus for recovering valuable substances from a lithium secondary battery according to the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0086] As shown in FIG. 1 , the precious substance recovery apparatus of this embodiment includes a reduction reaction tank 1 and a lithium electrodeposition tank 2 in which a Li-LiCl process is performed as a main process.

[0087] The reduction reaction tank 1 is an example of an electrode material for a lithium secondary battery—lithium cobaltate (LiCoO 2 ) is immersed in lithium chloride molten salt (LiCl) containing metal lithium (Li) to make it react with metal lithium (Li). The reduction reaction tank 1 is provided with a stirrer 3 for stirring the liquid in the tank. Lithium chloride molten salt (LiCl) dissolves the reducing agent (Li) and the reduction product (Li 2 O), there...

Abstract

A method of recovering valuable substances, comprising the solvent detaching step (S3) of immersing fracture pieces of a lithium secondary battery in a solvent to thereby dissolve the resin binder of the electrode material and detach the electrode material containing valuable substances from the electrode constructing metal foil; the filtering step (S4) of filtering the resultant solvent suspension to thereby attain separation and recovery of the electrode material containing valuable substances and the carbon material; the heat treatment step (S5) of heating the recovered electrode material containing valuable substances and carbon material in an oxidative atmosphere to thereby attain combustion removal of the carbon material; ; and the reduction reaction step (S6) of immersing the obtained electrode material containing valuable substances in a molten salt of lithium chloride containing metallic lithium to thereby effect a reduction reaction.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a recovery method and a recovery device for recovering precious substances, especially precious metals such as lithium (Li) and cobalt (Co), from lithium secondary batteries. Background technique [0002] The electrode materials of lithium secondary batteries use transition metal oxides containing lithium, especially the relatively easy-to-synthesize lithium cobaltate (LiCoO 2 ) and carbon (C) composites. Other electrode materials (positive electrode materials) for lithium secondary batteries include LiNiO 2 、LiCo x Ni (1-x) o 2 (x=1~0), LiMn 2 o 4 Wait. [0003] As described above, the electrode material (cathode material) of lithium secondary batteries contains rare valuable substances such as cobalt or lithium, and therefore, it is desired to recover these valuable substances from used lithium secondary batteries. The recovered valuable substances can be recycled again as electrode materials of lithium secondary batt...
