Abstract

The invention provides a safety device for protecting hardware, an integrated circuit and a method. The safety device for protecting hardware includes: a safety memory with safety discrimination data; and a safety integrated circuit including: a microprocessor; a safety controller for transmitting the safety discrimination data to the microprocessor; a safety base pin for protecting hardware of the safety integrated circuit; and read only memory with a plurality of instructions stored therein. The plurality of instructions are executed by microprocessor according to starting operation, and determine safety grade on the basis of the safety discrimination data and hardware protection of the safety integrated circuit. The safety device for protecting hardware, the integrated circuit and the method provided by the present invention set the safety grade by the safety base pin of the safety device, reduce cost and complexity of safety structure, provide flexible safety structure and do not reduce safety grade.
