Problems solved by technology

[0010] Although the known anastomotic devices are satisfactory from a technical point of view, the anastomoses formed by the known devices are inevitably exposed to material and mechanical stresses which are detrimental to the patient's desired healing process and overall postoperative procedure

Embodiment Construction

[0042] With reference to the drawings, the same reference numerals in the drawings indicate the same constituent elements. figure 1 with 2 An anastomotic ring device 1 is described.

[0043] The ring device 1 includes at least a proximal compression ring 2 and a distal compression ring 3 to be positioned on either side of the proximal tissue portion 4 and the distal tissue portion 5. When the ring device 1 is activated, the proximal The compression ring 2 and the distal compression ring 3 are adapted to clamp the proximal tissue portion 4 and the distal tissue portion 5 between them. The compression rings 2, 3 define a central passage opening through the ring device 1. The ring device 1 also includes a locking device 6 adapted to connect the proximal ring 2 and the distal ring 3 to lock the ring device in its actuated configuration, so as to achieve the goal of anastomosis in gastric bypass bariatric surgery for pathologically obese patients, for example. An anastomotic connectio...

Abstract

The invention relates to a locking device (6) for an anastomotic ring device (1) of the type comprising at least a proximal ring (2) and a distal ring (3) intended to be positioned on either side of a proximal (4) and distal tissue portion (5) and suitable to clamp the proximal and distal tissue portions (4, 5) between them when the ring device (1) is actuated, wherein both rings (2, 3) define a central passage opening across the ring device (1). The locking device (6) is adapted to connect the distal and proximal rings (2, 3) to lock the ring device (1) in its actuated configuration and comprises a longitudinal portion (20) insertable in the passage opening of at least one (3) of the proximal and distal rings (2, 3) and a bushing portion (7) adapted to cover an inside surface of the tissue portions (4, 5) clamped between the compression rings. In this manner, the locking device combines a ring connecting function with a tissue stenting feature.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to devices and methods for surgical modification of organs and vessels. More specifically, the present invention relates to an anastomotic device for connecting two organs, for example, connecting two small intestines of separate lengths to each other, connecting a part of the small intestine to the stomach, or connecting two organs during a choledochoduodenal anastomosis. An anastomotic device that connects the common bile duct to the duodenum. The anastomosis device can also perform vascular anastomosis. Background technique [0002] The proportion of the world's population suffering from pathological obesity is continuously increasing. Severely obese people are prone to increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, lung disease and accidents. Since pathological obesity affects the life span of patients, methods of treating pathological obesity have been studied. [0003] Numerous methods for non-surgical tr...
