Abstract

The present invention relates to a multispectral chromatic polarization detection method of foreign impurity in the textile raw material and a device thereof, which belongs to the field of automatic detecting technique and optical detecting in the textile industry. According to the method of the invention, the textile raw material to be detected is irradiated with the white polarized light. When the foreign impurity appears, the kind of the foreign impurity, the color spectrum interfered by the white polarized light and the thickness and light intensity information of the textile raw material are obtained through the image analysis. Then the foreign impurity is irradiated by the modulated multispectral polarized light, and the foreign impurity is identified from the obtained multispectral polarized image. The device of the invention comprises a transmittance and reflection ultraviolet multispectral polarized light source, an optical wave plate, a polarized light analyzer, a color camera or a color infrared camera, an image analyzer and a dispersion prism. The method and the device of the invention have the advantages of simple operation, low detection cost, and capacity for simultaneously detecting out the dominant impurities of cotton, wool, etc. in the textile raw material and the implicit impurity that is hard to detect by the prior method.
