Abstract

The invention relates to the use of carboxylic acid diesters, in particular for treating textiles, and more particularly for cleaning paint stains on textile fibres in order to improve the cleaning performance. According to the invention, a dicarboxylic acid diester of formula (I) R1-OOC-A-COO-R2 is used, in which the groups R1 and R2 are the same or different and represent a linear or branched, cyclic or non-cyclic C1-C20 alkyl, aryl, alkyaryl, or arylalkyl group, and the group A represents a branched divalent C3-C10 alkylene group.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the use of carboxylic acid diesters for textile treatment and formulations for this use. Background technique [0002] In various industrial paint shops, such as in the automotive industry, metal parts and plastic parts are covered with different types of paint. There are generally three layers: [0003] - Adhesive primer [0004] - Base coat (paint + metallic pigment) [0005] - Clear coat (clear protective varnish) [0006] Workers working in these paint shops use overalls that quickly become contaminated with these different layers and have to be changed every time they change jobs. This creates a major cleaning problem. [0007] Conventional detergents are not effective enough against industrial coatings and require the use of solvents. Solvents are often aggressive to the user (corrosive, volatile) or to the environment, or have properties that make them difficult to handle (too low flash point, high volatili...
