Abstract

The invention relates to a noise estimation method and a device for an MBSFN system. Based on a characteristic that a cyclic prefix of a Preamble sequence in the MBSFN system is 32 chips, i.e. the maximum time delay spread when the MBSFN networks is controlled within 32 chips, the second 32 chips of 64 chips output by a channel estimator are used as interference taps for computing interference power, and the average power of the second 32 channel taps of an original channel estimation result for approximating the average power on the first 32 channel taps, thereby obtaining the total noise power.
