[0031] 1. First Embodiment

[0032] battery structure

[0033] figure 1 is a sectional view showing a configuration example of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to the first embodiment of the present invention. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is a so-called lithium ion secondary battery in which the capacity of the negative electrode is represented by a capacity component based on occlusion and release of lithium (Li) used as an electrode reactant. This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is of a so-called cylindrical type, and includes a wound electrode member 20 inside a battery case 11 of a substantially hollow cylindrical shape, in which a strip-shaped positive electrode 21 and a strip-shaped negative electrode 22 are sandwiched by a separator 23 Lamination and winding are performed in between. The battery case 11 is made of iron (Fe) plated with nickel (Ni), and is clo...

Embodiment

[0114] The present invention will be described below with reference to examples. However, the present invention is not limited to these Examples.

[0115] In the present invention, a single physical value is determined as follows.

[0116] Molecular weight of PVdF

[0117] The measurement was carried out using gel permeation chromatography (GPC) at a temperature of 40° C. and a flow rate of 10 ml / min to determine the molecular weight of polystyrene. For the solvent, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) was used.

[0118] average particle size

[0119] The average particle diameter d50 of the particles was determined by using an X-ray absorption type particle size analyzer (trade name: SediGraph III5120, manufactured by Titan Technologies, Inc.).

[0120] The surface density of the second layer

[0121] The weight of the separator divided into a length of 30 cm and including the first layer and the second layer was measured, and the weight per unit area was calculated. The predeter...

Abstract

The present invention provides a separator and a battery comprising the separator . The separator includes a first layer having a first principal surface and a second principal surface and a second layer disposed on at least one of the first principal surface and the second principal surface, wherein the first layer is a microporous film containing a polymer resin, the second layer is a microporous film containing particles having an electrically insulating property and fibrils having an average diameter of 1 [mu]m or less, and the fibrils have a three-dimensional network structure in which the fibrils are mutually linked. Therefore, even through the separator is broken because of impurities or dendritic crystal, heat emitting can be restrained, and thus, the safety of batteries can be improved.
