Abstract

The method involves overmolding a decorative foil (9) in a cavity with a thermoplastic material, at a core side in a closed molding tool (1). Separation between a decorative area and another cavity is compensated. Another decorative foil (16) is subsequently overmolded in the latter cavity with a thermoplastic material. The materials are bonded with each other. A composite molded part is formed with different conjoined decorative areas. The foils are made of fabric, plastic foil, decorative material, rug material, leather or imitation leather. An independent claim is also included for a molding tool comprising a core and a matrix.
