Also disclosed is an analysis reagent for use in the method. The leukocyte analysis method comprises: a mixing step of mixing a sample containing leukocytes and erythrocytes with an analysis reagent containing a surfactant capable of reacting with leukocytes; and a measurement step of allowing the mixed solution of the sample and the analysis reagent to pass through a fine pore, measuring a signal detected at the time of passage, and classifying and counting the leukocytes in the sample. In the method, the analysis reagent additionally contains a nonionic surfactant, and the nonionic surfactant has a sugar residue as a hydrophilic moiety and an aliphatic chain as a hydrophobic moiety.
