Abstract

The invention provides a method for designing power supply of a centralized RACK system, which is characterized in that: a N+1 redundancy power source module is adopted to displace a +12V power supply bus via a middle power source backboard in order to supply power to a plurality of computation blade nodes, the power source module and the computation nodes are connected with the power source backboard all by means of golden fingers, wherein a primary power source is to convert alternating current 220V commercial power into 12V direct current, the 12V direct current is output to various servernodes in the system by means of 12V, a DC-DC secondary power source integrated with each server node performs the conversion, and 12V, 5V, 3.3V, 5VSB and -12V voltages required by the server nodes aswell as time sequence signals for switching on and off PS-ON and PowerGood are provided; a secondary power supply is to enhance the universality of motherboards of various server nodes in the RACK system and provide short-circuit protection for every server node in the RACK system, and upon the short-circuit failure of certain server node, the secondary power source is disconnected immediately and stops supplying power to the server node, thereby avoiding the power failure of the entire RACK system.
