In the brimstone furnace provided by the invention, the inside of the brimstone furnace shell is provided with the combustion platform for the downstream flowing of liquid sulfur, liquid sulfur enters the brimstone furnace shell from a liquid sulfur delivery pipe and is sprayed to the upper end of the combustion platform; liquid sulfur flows down layer by layer along the side of the combustion platform when burnt layer by layer; and the combustion platform provides enough surface area so that liquid sulfur can fully contact with the air, liquid sulfur can be burnt completely and the amount of the sublimated liquid sulfur is reduced.
