Abstract

The invention provides a dispatching method for data packets of a multi-rate wireless network, and equipment using the method. The dispatching method comprises the following steps: a wireless access point is used for sorting data packets of a plurality of wireless nodes according to the physical connection rates of the plurality of wireless nodes connected with the wireless access point, so that a plurality of arrays of data packets corresponding to various types can be formed; the throughput of the array of data packets corresponding to each type of wireless node is calculated and distributed; the message types and the priority levels of the data packets are determined, and the starting time and the ending time of the data packets in each array are estimated; and the data packets in each array are dispatched according to the determined priority levels of the data packets and the estimated starting time of the data packets, wherein the data packet having the short starting time in the array according to the calculation is dispatched earlier, and the data packet having the high priority level is placed at the front end of the array.
