Abstract

The invention discloses a novel computer keyboard, relating to an improvement on a key layout, marks, definitions, codes and circuit diagrams of a computer keyboard. The novel computer keyboard is characterized in that: key mappings of the whole keyboard consist of 89 keys in 6 lines and 16 rows form top to bottom, and the whole keyboard is called as 89 type keyboard; and the key mappings are symmetrically arranged left and right in a rank matrix positive position way, and are divided into three big zones consisting of a functional key zone, a control key zone and a character key zone. The control keys are arranged in a shape of a Chinese character 'ao' (meaning concave); the character keys are arranged in a shape of a Chinese character 'tu' (meaning convex) which rolls over by 90 degrees left and right in an opposite way; and the digital keys are arranged in an I shape in the center of the keyboard. As the novel layout is adopted, circuit diagrams are optimized and novel functions like composite symbols, mathematical formulas and text control are additionally arranged, therefore, not only the keyboard size is reduced and the product production technique and cost are reduced, but also the functions are improved, thereby greatly improving the keyboard application.
