Abstract

The invention provides a backlight module. The backlight module comprises a light guide plate, a first light source module and a second light source module. The light guide plate comprises a first side and a second side adjacent to the first side and a light outlet area. The first light source module is equipped adjacent to the first side of the light guide plate so as to generate multiple main beams. The main beams form at least a first bright area and at least a second bright area on the light outlet area of the light guide plate. The first bright area is brighter than the second bright area. The second light source module is applied for generating auxiliary beams. The main beams generated by the first light source module and the auxiliary beams generated by the second light source module are intersected on the second bright area. According to one embodiment, the second light source module can be a light-emitting diode (LED) which is equipped adjacent to the second side of the light guide plate so as to make the auxiliary beam directly emit from the second side to the light guide plate.
