Abstract

The invention discloses an expanding method for realizing a double-layer network and an expanded double-layer network. The expanding method comprises the following steps: setting an address resolution server (ARS) in an operator network; setting a virtual switch on a physical server in a data center; after electrifying the virtual switch on a virtual machine in the physical server, registering a corresponding relation between an IP (Internet Protocol) address of the virtual machine and an own MAC (Media Access Control) address on the ARS; recording the corresponding relation between the IP address of the virtual machine and the own MAC address of the virtual machine registered by the virtual switch by the ARS, and standing by for the inquiry of other virtual machines; inquiring the MAC address corresponding to the IP address from the ARS by the virtual machine in the physical server according to the IP address at an opposite communication end; and performing message interaction with the opposite communication end through the MAC address. The double-layer network is capable of reducing the cost of an address resolution protocol and avoiding the influence of broadcast storm, thereby greatly increasing the expandability of the double-layer network.
