Abstract

The invention provides an adaptive signal method capable of avoiding deadlock of an intersection and a device, which relate to the field of intelligent traffic. The method includes acquiring the number of vehicles at the intersection and the vehicle speed of an exit section in a current traffic direction; and switching the phase of an intersection signal into the phase of a temporary signal when the number of the vehicles at the intersection is larger than a threshold value and the vehicle speed of the exit section is lower than a threshold value. The phase of the temporary signal includes prohibiting vehicles in the current traffic direction from running into the intersection and prohibiting traffic in a vehicle flow direction conflicting with the current traffic direction. Whether the phase of the temporary signal needs to be switched in or not is determined by means of judging the number of the vehicles at the intersection and the vehicle speed of the exit section corresponding to the traffic signal, the traffic in the vehicle flow direction conflicting with the current traffic direction is prohibited within the phase of the temporary signal, accumulation of the vehicles at the intersection is avoided, deadlock of the intersection is stopped, traffic efficiency of the intersection is improved, urban traffic jam is relieved, and traffic accident rate is reduced.
