Abstract

The invention relates to a wheelchair. A dual-mode electric wheelchair comprises a wheelchair body, an electric driving system for driving the wheelchair body, a steering mechanism located at the front end of the wheelchair body, an operation display board arranged on the steering mechanism to point towards a driver and a seat mounted on the wheelchair body, wherein the steering mechanism comprises a knob and a steering post; the electric driving system is a bidirectional electric driving system which can drive the wheelchair body to move in two directions; the steering post comprises a lower section and an upper section connected to the lower section in a self-driving state or other-driving state; the upper section is fixedly connected with the knob; the lower section is fixedly connected to the wheelchair body; and the upper section is rotated for 180 degrees with respect to the lower section when the upper section is converted from the self-driving state to the other-driving state. The invention provides a dual-mode electric wheelchair which not only can be self-driven, but also can be driven by others and a using method thereof. The dual-mode electric wheelchair, disclosed by the invention, has the advantages of solving problems of causing bad uniformity and bringing about inconvenience for nursing service by the single driving mode of the conventional electric wheelchairs.
