A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display module with a photovoltaic cell (200). The method comprises: step 1: providing a substrate (20) and a liquid crystal display panel (40); step 2: forming a transparent conducting layer on the substrate (20) in a sputtering manner; step 3: arranging a first matrix (22) below a TFT array (420) away from a pixel opening of the liquid crystal display panel (40); step 4: forming a photovoltaic layer on the transparent conducting layer in a chemical vapor deposition manner; step 5: etching the photovoltaic layer into a second matrix (24) corresponding to the first matrix (22) through processes of photo-mask and dry etching; step 6: forming a metal layer on the photovoltaic layer in a sputtering manner; step 7: etching the metal layer into a third matrix (26) corresponding to the second matrix (24) through processes of photo-mask and wet etching, and further forming the photovoltaic cell (200) on the substrate (20); step 8: corresponding to the periphery of the photovoltaic cell (200), coating sealing glue (60) on the substrate (20); and step 9: oppositely attaching the substrate (20) with the liquid crystal display panel (40) and solidifying the sealing glue (60).
