Embodiment Construction

[0023] The figures show, for example, how this can be done during the production of objects whose surfaces are to be protected against wear.

[0024] First ceramic particles—for example 40% zirconium corundum with an average particle size of 1 mm-2 mm—are mixed with 3% “Polyfiller S” slurry and / or 3% water glass as a binder. This material is applied to a glass fiber mat 2 in (in the form of) a layer 1 of the desired thickness. The glass fiber mat 2 with ceramic particle coating has a thickness of 6-8 mm. The resulting double-layer pad structure is produced after the adhesive has cured. thus formed figure 1 The double-layer lining 9 shown is precisely adapted to the shape of the workpiece surface to be protected. Based on the aforementioned paste, the liner 9 is not rigid, but retains a certain degree of flexibility, enabling it to be bent also if necessary.

Abstract

The invention relates to the production method of a cast workpiece having increased wear protection in regions, wherein ceramic particles having an average grain size of between 0.2 and 4 mm are mixed with at least one binding agent. Said mixture is applied to a heat-resistant fiber mat at a particular layer thickness, whereby a two-layer structure arises. After hardening of the binding agent, an insert (9) is constructed from the two-layer structure, the shape thereof corresponding to the shape of a surface region of the cast workpiece to be protected. The insert (9) is applied in the casting cavity (8) at the location corresponding to the surface region of the cast workpiece to be protected. The casting cavity (8) is finally filled with casting material, wherein the ceramic particles in the insert (9) are embedded in the casting material. In said manner, a wear protection of defined thickness and precisely matched shape can be achieved at the surface of the casting workpiece.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for producing a casting having an at least partially increased wear resistance / wear protection structure, in which a ceramic-containing material is embedded / embedded in the matrix of the casting material during casting. Background technique [0002] It has long been known that ductile castings have low wear resistance despite high impact stability and toughness. However, very wear-resistant workpieces are generally brittle and cannot withstand impact requirements. Many attempts have therefore been made to produce composite workpieces in which wear-resistant inserts of hard material are embedded in a ductile, impact-resistant matrix. [0003] A method of the type mentioned at the outset is known from EP 0841990 B1. Ceramic inserts of porous or sponge-like design are used here, whereby the potting material enters the openings or pores of the insert during the casting process. It is not easy to produce inserts with the...
