Abstract

The invention discloses a ground-based visible cloud image recognition processing method which comprises the following steps of: acquiring a cloud image, performing preprocessing such as denoising, enhancing and the like on an input color image, and separating out a sky background and a cloud foreground by using the transparency based on a perceptual color space; then, extracting a transparency value of the cloud foreground image, and meanwhile, additionally taking textural features as distinguishing features among different cloud types; and finally, classifying the cloud type by using a neural network in conjunction with a cloud type feature database, and storing and displaying the corresponding feature and result. The method is suitable for ground-based all-sky visible cloud recognition processing work, can overcome the limitations in artificial visual judgment, and has a certain automatic discrimination function. Besides, the method is easy to implement, simple in structure and low in cost, and has a better identification and classification effect on common clouds; and especially under the condition that the requirement for the purity of the background sky is not high, the method disclosed by the invention has a better cloud-sky separation effect in comparison with the common threshold discrimination method.
